Artist's Description

Amtrak 5, climbing up to Donner Siummit, is seen emmiting a large black cloud of diesel smoke from its stack, as well as flames for a few seconds. The image is cropped from a wide angle shot so the smoke and fire, noticable as they are, would have been much more intense up close. A common occurrence for GE locomotives I am told.
