The colors in this photograph really pop if printed on aluminum or on metalic paper. This is a photograph of three kokanee salmon in fall spawning form. In the fall of the year kokanee (landlocked sockeye salmon) swim up available creeks to span, and thin like all salmon, to die. The male and female in front are a couple, thus the title "The Interloper" as the male coming from behind is trying to win the female away from her chosen.
